Technology behind the charge

Govian Energy is developing Govian Charge Cloud, our charging-management technology platform designed to connect charging operations, driver experiences, property visibility, payments and commercial charging relationships in one scalable system.

Govian Charge Cloud

What the platform brings together

Charging operations

Charger connectivity and charging-session management.

Driver charging experience

QR-based access designed to reduce friction for drivers.

Pricing

Configurable charging tariffs, with pricing captured for each charging journey.

Payments

Integrated authorization, charging and receipt workflows.

Commercial agreements

Technology designed around property-specific commercial arrangements.

Reconciliation

Independent controls designed to identify discrepancies instead of silently masking them.

Settlement transparency

Explainable allocation of charging economics between Govian and property partners according to the applicable agreement.

Access control

Scoped access designed so users see the properties and functions they are authorized to access.

Open standards

We believe your charging network shouldn’t depend on a single hardware manufacturer.

Govian's charging infrastructure uses OCPP-based charger communication, helping us work toward compatibility with multiple qualified charging-hardware manufacturers.

That is a strategic choice, not a marketing line: it keeps the property's charging program portable and keeps Govian's platform independent of any one vendor's roadmap.

Hardware still has to be evaluated and qualified for compatibility — we don't claim every OCPP charger on the market works out of the box.

Design principles

How we build it

Clear separation of financial records

Charging sessions, payments, refunds, reconciliation and settlement are maintained as distinct records rather than collapsed into one opaque transaction.

Evidence over assumption

A charging session is created from charger evidence, not merely from the fact that a remote-start command was accepted.

Visible exceptions

When records don’t reconcile, the design preserves the exception rather than changing the underlying financial truth to make things appear matched.

Scoped by default

Authorization is scoped to the organization, property and function a user is entitled to — not granted platform-wide and trimmed afterwards.

Pricing captured at the moment

The pricing that applied to a charging journey is captured with that journey, so a past session can always be explained.

Built to grow

The same architecture supports one property today and larger portfolios as the network grows.
