Questions properties ask us
Ownership, funding, pricing, hardware compatibility and support — answered plainly.
What types of properties does Govian serve?
Govian focuses on multifamily communities, hotels, workplaces, retail, commercial properties and other destination-charging locations.
Does my property need to purchase the chargers?
Not necessarily. Govian supports different commercial structures, including property-owned, Govian-owned for qualified projects, and shared-investment arrangements.
Can Govian fund my charging project?
Govian may invest in qualified charging projects subject to site evaluation, project economics and a commercial agreement. Funding is not guaranteed.
Can my property earn revenue from EV charging?
Depending on the selected commercial structure, a property may participate in charging revenue under its agreement with Govian. Govian does not guarantee charging revenue or return on investment.
Who sets the charging price?
Charging pricing can be configured according to the applicable property and commercial arrangement.
Do drivers need an app?
Govian’s Launch 1 driver experience is designed around QR-based web charging, allowing a driver to begin the charging journey from a compatible smartphone without requiring an app for the basic charging flow.
Can property owners see charging activity?
Govian is developing property-facing tools that provide authorized property partners with visibility into their charging locations, chargers, sessions and applicable commercial information.
Does Govian work with only one charger manufacturer?
Govian’s platform is being developed around OCPP-based charger communication. Hardware must be evaluated and qualified for compatibility, so compatibility should not be assumed for every charger model.
Does Govian install chargers?
Govian can coordinate charging deployments and work with appropriately qualified installation professionals. Electrical work must be performed according to applicable codes, permits and licensing requirements.
What happens if a charger has a problem?
Govian’s operating model includes charger monitoring and operational support, with maintenance responsibilities defined according to the deployment and commercial agreement.
What does EV charging cost to install?
Project cost varies significantly based on charger count, electrical capacity, distance from the electrical service, parking layout, permitting and installation requirements. Govian evaluates the property before recommending a deployment and commercial structure.
What electrical infrastructure does my property need?
Requirements depend on charger count, charging power and existing electrical capacity. Govian evaluates the available information and coordinates with qualified electrical professionals as needed.
How long does installation take?
Timing depends on site assessment, electrical work, permitting, equipment availability and utility requirements. Govian provides a property-specific implementation plan rather than promising a standard timeline.
Who handles maintenance?
Maintenance responsibilities depend on charger ownership and the applicable commercial agreement. Govian defines those responsibilities before deployment.
Can we start with a few chargers and expand later?
Yes, where the site and electrical design support it, Govian can structure deployments with future expansion in mind.
How do I get started?
Submit a property assessment request. Govian can review your property, charging goals and preferred partnership model.
