Privacy Policy
How Govian Energy handles information from website visitors, property enquiries and charging sessions.
This Privacy Policy explains how Govian Energy LLC (“Govian,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit govianenergy.com, contact us, or use a Govian EV charging location.
Information we collect
Information you provide
When you submit a property assessment request or otherwise contact us, we collect the information in that submission — typically your name, company or property, business email, phone number (if provided), property address and details about the charging project you are considering.
Driver charging information
When a driver uses a Govian charging location, we collect information necessary to deliver and account for the charging session. This includes the charging location and charger identifier, session start and stop times, delivered energy, the pricing applied to that session, and the payment authorization result associated with the session.
Website information
Our website may collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and pages viewed. This information is used to operate and secure the site.
Payment information
Govian uses a third-party payment provider to process charging payments. Card details are submitted to that provider and Govian’s systems are designed so that raw card numbers are not stored by Govian. Govian retains payment references and limited safe metadata (such as card brand, last four digits and expiry) in order to reconcile charging sessions, issue receipts and handle refunds.
How we use information
- To respond to property assessment requests and other enquiries
- To deliver, price, authorize and complete charging sessions
- To issue receipts and process refunds where applicable
- To calculate amounts payable under commercial agreements with property partners
- To operate, monitor, troubleshoot and secure our charging infrastructure and website
- To meet legal, tax, accounting and record-keeping obligations
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We use service providers to operate website forms and deliver submitted enquiries to Govian, and we share information with other service providers who perform functions on our behalf — for example payment processing, cloud hosting and email — only as needed for those functions. We may share charging-activity and commercial information with the property partner associated with a charging location, in the form and scope permitted by the applicable commercial agreement. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function and, where used, to understand aggregate site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including the period required for financial records, reconciliation, dispute handling and applicable legal or tax obligations. Charging-session and payment records are retained as business and accounting records.
Security
Govian applies technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including scoped access controls, encrypted transport for web and charging traffic, and a payment architecture designed to keep raw card data outside Govian’s systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services
Our site and services rely on third-party providers including a payment processor, cloud infrastructure providers, email services and web form handling. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy terms.
Children
Govian’s services are directed to businesses and adult drivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to appeal a decision on such a request. Govian does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email info@govianenergy.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services develop. The effective date above indicates the current version.
