Govian Energy LLC wants its website and charging experiences to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology.

Our approach

We aim to align this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. In building the site we have worked to:

• Meet or exceed WCAG AA color-contrast ratios for text and interface elements
• Keep all functionality reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
• Use semantic headings, landmarks and link text that make sense out of context
• Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and hide decorative graphics from assistive technology
• Respect the operating-system “reduce motion” preference
• Support text resizing and reflow on small screens
• Never convey status by color alone

Ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a finished state. As we add features to this website, to the Govian Property Portal and to the driver charging experience, we test and correct issues as we find them. We have not completed a formal third-party accessibility audit of this website, and we would rather say so than imply a certification we do not hold.

Physical charging locations

The accessibility of a physical charging location — parking space dimensions, approach routes, signage and charger height — is determined by the property and the installation, and is subject to applicable codes and regulations. If you encounter an accessibility barrier at a Govian charging location, please tell us so we can raise it with the property partner.
